05 Sep Miracle in Toronto
Lithuanian Egle Vertelyte’s DCP II 2015 project Miracle will world premiere in Discovery section of TIFF 2017. In the film, the owner of a struggling post-Soviet pig farm finds a surprising benefactor in a visiting American investor, whose “good” intentions upend the gentle rhythms of small-town life.
Producer Lukas Trimonis describes how the 2015 DCP II experience greatly benefited the project. “As we had a three country co-production where ORKA FILM in Poland was doing post-production for the movie, it helped tremendously in creating a suitable workflow,” he underlines. “Taking part in DCP II with the project prepared me to understand the process of planning and getting ready for post-production.”
“I would recommend it to my colleague producers,” he adds. “Understanding the process of post-production can help you tremendously in saving time and finances when dealing with your production.” And his reaction to the film’s selection at one of the core festivals in the international calendar? “It’s a miracle!” he exclaims.
